The Region Origins Cap: Styled by Jana and Maya in the Canary Islands

Some products carry more than a logo. They carry a story.

I first met Jana while working at brand and design agency KISKA in Salzburg, Austria. Although we only worked together for a short time, she made a lasting impression. Raised by her German parents but growing up mostly in the Canary Islands, Jana brought a positive energy, confidence and unique sense of style to the team.

When I saw that she had started modelling after our time at KISKA, I knew I wanted to work with her on Region. So when the opportunity came to photograph the new Region Origins Cap, I reached out. Luckily, she was interested.

A Cap With History

Caps have always been an important part of Region.

When I first started the brand in 2012, the Region Heritage Floral Five-Panel Cap became one of our bestsellers and was worn by professional big wave surfer Laura Crane. The Region Tropic Five-Panel Cap was later worn by professional skateboarder Madars Apse.

So following the launch of the Region Origins T-Shirt, the first product marking Region's 2026 relaunch, it felt natural for a cap to follow.

The Origins Cap features the same hand-drawn artwork created by French designer Alice Constant, embroidered in cobalt blue onto an off-white cap. A cobalt blue brim and brass clasp closure complete the design.

Designed to complement the Origins T-Shirt, it brings the two pieces together for an easy summer look.

Canary Islands

For the shoot, Jana and her friend Maya took the cap back to Jana's home on the Canary Islands.

From the poses and outfits to the warm island light — and even the matching blue nail polish — the images capture the fun, confidence and creativity that I admired so much in Jana when we worked together at KISKA.

It feels great to reconnect in this way and see Region interpreted through their eyes.

A huge thank you to Jana and Maya for bringing the Region Origins Cap to life through these beautiful images.
