The Cap Swap: Region Clothing meets Average Rob
A spontaneous visit to the opening of La Patate in Leuven led to an unexpected meeting between two brands — and an unexpected exchange of caps.
Region has always been about more than clothing. It's about the people, places and creative communities that give the brand its energy.
So there was something fitting about finding ourselves at the opening of the new La Patate.
The story started with a walk through Leuven. A boarded-up shopfront caught our attention and revealed that La Patate was opening a new location in the city.
Having followed Average Rob and Arno The Kid for years, curiosity quickly turned into a plan to visit the opening.
Arriving by bike on opening morning, there was already a long queue outside.
After joining the queue, the first 100 customers were rewarded with free fries.
Loaded fries and a Tout Bien beer were ordered.
Inside, Arno joined the table for a chat before heading to the back of the restaurant, where Rob was waiting with their food.
Arno described the cap as giving him Spanish vibes, which felt particularly appropriate given that the Origins Cap had recently been brought to life through a campaign photographed in the Canary Islands.
It's these unexpected connections that make building a brand so exciting.
Region and La Patate may operate in very different worlds, but there is something familiar in what Rob and Arno have created: a strong identity, a sense of humour, a community and a willingness to build something of their own.
Seeing the Region Origins Cap exchanged on the streets of Leuven and worn by people building their own creative worlds feels like exactly the kind of journey we want our products to take.
Thanks to Rob, Arno and the La Patate team for making the experience such a memorable one! 🧢
